Millikin Men's Soccer Scores Overtime Victory

    The Millikin men's soccer team scored a critical 3-2 overtime win at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois on October 29.

    Millikin scored its third straight CCIW victory and kept its post season hopes alive.  The Big Blue are now 3-3 in the CCIW and in fourth place with the top four teams advancing to the CCIW Tournament.  The Millikin win sets up a showdown with Augustana College on Saturday.  The Vikigns are currently in fifth place with a 2-3-1 conference record.  The game will be on November 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Frank M. Lindsay Field.

    Freshman Dylan Hottsmith was the Millikin offensive hero scoring the game tying goal in the 83rd minute to make it 2-2 and the game winning goal three minutes and 45 seconds into the overtime period.  The game winner came on an assist from Ben Spelman.  

    After North Central took a 1-0 lead in the first period, Millikin's Nick Abel tied the game with a goal in the 53rd minute.

    Daniel Sinclair had six saves in goal for Millikin.

    John Kissel and Evan Landmark had goals for North Central.

    Millikin is now 8-7-1 while North Central goes to 9-7-1.
