Big Blue Wrestlers Sweep Millikin Duals

  The Millikin wrestling team continues to impress in its return to competition defeating all three opponents at the Millikin Duals held on November 21 in the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          Millikin defeated the University of Chicago 41-4, knocked off Calumet College of St. Joseph 51-3 and took down NCAA Division II opponent Truman State 31-12.
          Chris Williams went 3-0 on the day for Millikin. He won at 141 over University of Chicago's Elliot Henderson in a major decision 17-6. Williams won twice at 133 downing Calumet's Louis Escobedo-Rivera by technical fall 21-1 and winning of Truman State's Joe King 15-1 in a major decision.
          At 149, Jake Eckenrod went 3-0 for Millikin winning 9-5 over Chicago's Mason Williams, picking up a forfeit against Calumet and downing Truman State's Andrew Still 5-3.
          At 165 pounds, Millikin's RJ O'Connor won three times. He defeated Chicago's Nick Dinapoli 9-3, won over Ben Norton of Calumet by fall at 2:20 and took out Truman State's Steven Serbinsksi by fall at 4:54.
          The Big Blue's Stephan Birt was 3-0 at 174. He opened with a win over Chicago's Kavan Mullory by fall at 0:18. He then won by forfeit in the Calumet match and defeated Dustin McClintock of Truman State 15-2 in a major decision.
          In the 197 pound weight class, Millikin's Myron Hamilton defeated Chicago's Patrick Mulkerin 15-6 in a major decision, took out Ricky Garibay of Calumet in a major decision 19-5 and won over Samuel Reeves of Truman State in a thrilling overtime match decision by ride time 4-3.
          Millikin's Tristan Birt and Frank Tomaskovic each went 2-1 on the day. The Big Blue's Josh Fuqua was 2-0.
