Millikin Men's Basketball Suffers Road Loss

    The Millikin men's basketball team lost at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 69-60 on Dec. 10 in Terre Haute, Indiana.

    Rose-Hulman broke out to an early lead in the first half, but Millikin rallied to get back into the game.  The Engineers took a 33-32 lead into the locker room at halftime.  Millikin came out strong in the second half and built a five point advantage leading by five with 16 minutes left in the game.  The game was tied at 48-48 before Rose-Hulman went on a 21-12 run over the last 12 minutes of the game.

    Millikin shot 46 percent from the field including going five of nine (62.5 percent) from three point range.  Rose-Hulman shot 44 percent from the field.  The Engineers were 21-36 (58 percent) from the free throw line while Millikin was 11-15 (73 percent).  Rose-Hulman had the edge in rebounds 31-30.

    TJ Griffin was the mainstay of the Millikin offense scoring 29 points.  Bryn Agnew had a team high six rebounds.

    Rose-Hulman had four players score in double figures with Corey Povaleri, Jimmy Miller and Collin Wojcik each scored 13 point.

    Millikin is now 4-5 on the season while Rose-Hulman goes to 3-4.  Millikin will host Cornell College (Iowa) on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m.
