Millikin Men Dominate Franklin

Decatur, Ill. – Millikin Men's Soccer came up with a big win today against non-conference opponent Franklin College.  The win gives Millikin a two game winning streak and they are now 4-4-1 on the season.

Franklin College got the first goal on the board nineteen minutes in when Austin Fundenberger found the back of the net, putting the Grizzlies up 1-0.  Ten minutes later, Alan Hernandez tied the game up 1-1 when he scored his first goal of the season. Kellin Daniel scored the game winning goal ten minutes into the second half on a pass from Matthew BriarsDylan Hottsmith sealed the Big Blue win when he scored on the 79th minute.  Hunter Somers got the assist on the goal. 

The Big Blue outshot the Grizzlies 31-13.  Daniel Sinclair was strong in goal with 10 saves.  Grizzly goaltender Cody Chapman had 13 saves. 

The Big Blue men will continue their win streak Wednesday, October 1st when they host non-conference opponent Greenville College.  The game will be played under the lights of the newly renovated Frank Lindsay Field at 7:30 p.m.
