Millikin Volleyball Scores East Coast Victory

    The Millikin volleyball team scored a 3-1 victory over Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey on October 16.  The match was part of Millikin's Fall Break trip to the New York City area.
    Millikin won 25-23, 20-25, 25-18, 25-23.  Sophomore Erin Syversen led the Big Blue with 19 kills, 13 digs and two service aces.  Senior Melissa Hanika added 14 kills and junior Kelsey Talkington added nine.  Emily Mihalkanin had 55 set assists and 15 digs.  Cassidy Kingery had a team high 27 digs for Millikin.
    Mary Tobin led Stevens with 14 kills.
    Millikin will play two matches on Saturday at Kean University in Union, New Jersey.
    In addition to the three matches, the Big Blue players and coaches will spend their free time sightseeing in New York City.  The team will take in a Broadway show and visit the Empire State Building on Saturday night.
    Millikin is now 16-8 while Stevens goes to 13-11.
