Women’s Soccer Opens Conference Play with Victory

          The Millikin women's soccer team opened play in the CCIW with a 2-0 win over North Park University on October 3 at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, Illinois.
          Millikin was led by freshman Taylor Hartman who scored both of the Big Blue goals.  Hartman first goal came in the first two minutes of the game when she played the rebound off her own shot that was block and found an open net.  Hartman would score in the 23rd minute after a miscue by the Viking defense in front of its own net.
          Millikin's Anna Benvenuto earned the shutout in goal recording four saves.
          Millikin out shot North Park 10-7.
          Millikin is now 5-5, 1-0 while North Park goes to 5-6, 0-1.
          Next up for the Big Blue is a road game at Wheaton College on October 9.
