Big Blue Men’s Basketball Downs Earlham College

          The Millikin men's basketball team defeated Earlham College 65-42 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois on December 2.  The Big Blue improve to 4-4 on the season while the Quakers fall to 0-3.
          Millikin used an aggressive defense to hold Earlham to 30 percent shooting from the field and force the Quakers into 19 turnovers.  Millikin won the rebounding battle 39-31.  The Big Blue shot 41 percent from the field and hit on 18-26 (69 percent) from the free throw line.
          Millikin controlled the game leading 32-16 at the half and building a second half lead to as large as 28 points. 
          Tommy Pilackas led Millikin with 12 points, four rebounds, two blocks and two steals.  T.J. Griffin had 11 points, a team high seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.  Elijah Kinmon, Zach Long and Tyler Pygon each scored eight points for the Big Blue. Pygon had a team high five assists.
          Earlham's top scorer was Taylen Alexander with 14 points followed by Cole Bene with 10.
          Millikin will play its next five games on the road giving the Big Blue a stretch of 10 of 11 games away from the Griswold Center. 
          The Big Blue are back in action on December 12 when they travel to Cornell College.
