Big Blue Men’s Basketball Falls to Titans

          The Millikin men's basketball team lost to CCIW leader Illinois Wesleyan 80-61 on February 4 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.  The Titans are now 16-5, 8-2 while Millikin falls to 8-13, 3-7.  The Titans win coupled with an Augustana loss gives Illinois Wesleyan sole possession of first place in the conference.
          Illinois Wesleyan's long range shooting was the story of the game.  The Titans hit on 48 percent from the field including connecting on 16-34 (47 percent) from three point range.  Millikin shot 34 percent from the field and was 4-13 from long range.  The Titans shot 50 percent from the field in the first half going 8-16 from beyond the arc to build at 40-26 halftime advantage.  Illinois Wesleyan out rebounded Millikin 45-32.
          Freshman Zach Long led Millikin with 12 points and five rebounds.  Junior Tommy Pilackas had 10 points.  Bryn Agnew had a team high eight rebounds along with six points.
          Illinois Wesleyan had a balance attack with four players scoring in double figures led by Bryce Dolan with 12 and Alec Bausch and Pat Sodemann each with 11.  Trevor Seibring had a game high 11 rebounds and eight points.  The Titans had eight different players make a three-pointer.
          Millikin returns to action on Feb. 7 hosting North Park University at 7 p.m.
