Millikin Softball Opens Florida Trip with Two Wins

          The Millikin softball team opened its 10 game Florida trip with two wins on Sunday, March 8 in Clermont, Florida.
          Millikin defeated Moravian College 7-3 in the opener.  Millikin scored six runs in the seventh inning to pull out the victory.
Senior Becca Thompson was 2-4 with two RBIs to lead the Millikin offense.  Junior Alyssa Visvardis and freshman Alexis Dockins each had an RBI.
           Freshman Cathy Lebryk picked up the win throwing seven innings and allowing eight eights and three earned runs while striking out five.
           Millikin defeated Lakeland College (Wis.) 11-10 in the second game.  Visvardis was 4-5 with four RBIs and three runs scored.  Freshman catcher Alyssa Voegele was 3-5 with three RBIs.  Freshman Erica Forbes drove home three with a pinch hit bases loaded double.  Thompson was 2-3 with an RBI.
            Lebryk was the winning pitcher.
            ?Millikin plays Heidelberg University and University of Northwestern (Minn.) on Monday afternoon.
