Millikin Men’s Soccer Wins Third Straight

         The Millikin men's soccer team won its third straight game to open the 2015 season defeating Concordia-Chicago 5-2 on Sept. 6 in River Forest, Illinois.
         Playing on back-to-back days, the Big Blue trailed 1-0 at halftime after a first half goal by Concordia's Daniel Parraga.
         Three minutes into the second half, the Big Blue opened its five goal barrage scoring on a throw in by Nick Abel.  Two minutes later the Big Blue took the lead at 2-1 on a goal by Oliver Czopek who scored on a header off another Abel throw in.  Ben Spelman scored the first of his two goals at the at the 58:31 mark to make it 3-1. 
         Concordia answered by with a goal from Jobe Gobril to make it 3-2.
         The Big Blue closed out the scoring with another goal from Spelman and a goal from Takunda Jakachira.  Both assists went to freshman Patrick Dolan.
         Millikin out shot the Cougars 23-3.
         Millikin will play at Rose-Human on September 12.
