Road Win Keeps Millikin Volleyball in First Place

          The Millikin volleyball team rallied to win 3-1 at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin on October 10 to remain unbeaten in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play.  Millikin is now 19-7, 5-0 while Carthage goes to 13-9, 2-2.
          Carthage started strong winning the first set 25-19.  The Big Blue then won a tight second set 25-22.  The second set victory gave Millikin the momentum in the match and they went on to win 25-14 and 25-18.
          Erin Syversen led Millikin with 17 kills and 15 digs.  Courtney Bohn had 13 kills and two blocks and Emily Seegmiller added 12 kills along with two blocks.  Kelsey Talkington had nine kills and three blocks with a .429 hitting percentage.  Cassidy Kingery had a team high 20 digs and two service aces.  Emily Mihalkanin had 48 set assists, 13 digs and two aces.  Meredith Artime had 18 digs and Tory Speckin added 14.
          "He had several players step up tonight to enable us to come back and win," said Millikin Head Coach Debbie Kiick.  "Our defense was amazing.  All of our hitters stepped up and hit above their goals.  I am very proud of our team."
          Carthage was led by Anna Kinell with 12 kills.
