Big Blue Men Fall at Carthage

         The Millikin men's basketball team lost 70-59 at Carthage College in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) opener played in Kenosha, Wisconsin on December 3.
         Carthage built a 41-20 advantage at the half, but Millikin fought back in the second period.  The Big Blue pulled to with seven at 54-47 with 6:48 left, but could never get any closer.  Millikin shot 46 percent from the field while Carthage hit only 33 percent.  Millikin won the rebounding battle 36-33.  The difference in the game was in turnovers with Millikin committing 22 while the Red Men had only 10.  Carthage had a major advantage at the free throw line hitting 25-33 while Millikin had only 12 attempts making seven.
         Freshman Zach Fisher led Millikin with 17 points.  Tyler Pygon had 13 points followed by Jordan Cunningham with 12 points and seven rebounds.  Logan Bader had a team high eight rebounds.
         Carthage got 13 points from Mike Stevenson and 12 from Kienan Baltimore.
         Millikin will host Webster University on December 7 at 7 p.m.
