Big Blue Men’s Basketball Drops Season Finale

          The Millikin men's basketball team dropped the final game of the season 78-69 to Carthage College on February 20 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          It was a tie game at 38-38 at the half with the Red Men outscoring Millikin by nine in the second period.  Millikin shot 45 percent from the field, but were limited to 4-16 (25 percent) from three point range.  Carthage hit on 43 percent from the field and connected on 9-26 (35 percent) from beyond the arc.  The Red Men had the advantage at the free throw line hitting on 21-29 (72 percent) while Millikin shot 11-16 (69 percent).  Carthage won the rebounding battle 38-30.
          T.J. Sims led Millikin with 19 points.  Four Millikin seniors played in their final game for the Big Blue with seniors T.J. Griffin and Tommy Pilackas each scoring 14 points.  Senior Elijah Kinmon had seven points and six rebounds and senior Bryn Agnew added five points and a team high eight rebounds.
          Carthage's top scorer was Mike Stevenson with 22 points. 
          Millikin finishes the year at 9-16, 3-11 while Carthage ends the season at 10-15, 4-10.
