Millikin Baseball Falls in CCIW Opener

         The Millikin baseball team lost its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) opener 12-2 at Wheaton College on April 1 in Wheaton, Illinois.
         The Big Blue opened the scoring the second inning with Jake Stanton doubling home Frank Barnes.  Millikin went up 2-0 in the top of the third on a Julian Gutierrez RBI single.  Barnes and Anthony Rendina each went 2-3 to lead the Millikin attack.
         The Thunder scored a single run in the third and then add three runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.  The Thunder closed out the game with a two run double by Evan Ogden in the seventh inning.
         Brett Albaugh led the Thunder attack going 3-4 with a three-run home run.  JD Carpenter was 2-4 with two RBIs.
         Millikin is now 10-4 overall and 0-1 in the CCIW.  Wheaton is 12-6, 1-0.
         The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 12 p.m.
