Big Blue Baseball Falls to Illinois Wesleyan

The Titans jumped out to an early lead in game one with three runs in the first and three more in the second.  The Big Blue fought its way back into the game with one in the first, two in the third, two in the sixth and two in the ninth.  Millikin had the tying run on base in the ninth, but Titans shortstop Jarrod Juskiewicz made a stellar catch to end the game.

Matthew Mardis was 3-4 for the Titans with a double, home run and three RBIs.  Mitch Pfieffer, Mike Plecki and Stephen Billington each had two hits for Illinois Wesleyan in game one.
Game two was all Titans.  Mardis was again the offensive leader going 3-5 with a home run.  Ben Manski was 2-4 with a home run and four RBIs.  Nick Huskisson was the winning pitcher throwing seven innings allowing only four Millikin hits and no runs while striking out nine.
Millikin's Seth Coffey picked up base hits in both games extending his hitting streak to 25 straights.
Millikin is now 15-14, 4-11 while Illinois Wesleyan improves to 18-14, 10-5.
Millikin will host Carthage College in a doubleheader on April 30 starting at 1 p.m.
