Big Blue Women’s Soccer Defeats Principia

          The Millikin women's soccer team picked up a road win at Principia College 3-2 on September 20 in Elsah, Illinois.  
          The Big Blue came out ready to play and took the lead at 6:40 on a goal by Katie Bartuch.  The score remained 1-0 Millikin until 41:09 when Annika Friberg scored for the Panthers tying the game 1-1.   Angela Pulice scored in the first half on a penalty kick giving the Big Blue the lead 2-1 at the half.  
          Principia came out in the second half scoring at the 48:01 mark with a goal by Rachel Perea tying the game 2-2.  Raven Withaar's goal gave Millikin the lead at 78:03. 
          Millikin goalie Anna Benvenuto got the win with six saves.
          The Big Blue improved to 3-2-1 on the year.   Millikin will be back in action on the pitch Saturday, September 24 for a 2:00 p.m. matchup at home against Maranatha Baptist University.
