Millikin Soccer Dominates Muskies

          The Millikin University men's soccer team scored a dominating 8-2 win over Lakeland College (Wis.) Muskies at Frank M. Lindsay Field on September 5 in Decatur, Illinois.
          It was all Millikin from the start with the Big Blue scoring two goals in the game's first minute and 16 seconds.  Freshman Nicholas Hatfield opened the scoring one minute into the game off a throw-in from Chris Clay.  Ten seconds later Ivan Lopez scored his first goal of the game on an assist from Takunda Jakachira.  Lopez would score again at the 7:25 mark off another Clay throw-in.
          Lakeland answered with just under 10 minutes gone in first period on a goal from Nwachan Nada.  Millikin would add three more goals to build a 6-1 advantage at the half.  Austin Taylor, Gabriel Gil and Tucker Mathieson all had first period goals.  Michael Longo recorded an assist in the first half and then scored a goal in the 56th minute off Jakachira's second assist of the night.  Ben Spelman scored Millikin's final goal.
          Lakeland's Charles Apostolik scored in the 74th minute to make it 8-2 Millikin.
