Big Blue Men’s Basketball Loses to #20 Augustana

          The Millikin men's basketball team lost to conference leading #20 Augustana College 69-53 on January 21 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          Millikin stayed close to the Vikings in the first half until Augustana closed out the half with a 6-2 run to go up 27-19 at halftime.  The Vikings controlled the second half pushing out to a 15 point lead with 14 minutes remaining in the game.  Millikin answered and used back-to-back three pointers by Zach Fisher to pull to within five at 55-50 with under seven minutes left in the game.  The Vikings held off the Millikin charge with its own 7-0 run to push the lead back to double digits.
          Augustana hit on 46 percent from the field while Millikin hit 40 percent of its shots.  The Vikings dominated the glass out rebounding the Big Blue 42-23 with Millikin grabbing only one offensive rebound in the entire game.
          Jack Simpson and Jordan Cunningham each had 10 points and four rebounds for Millikin.  Fisher finished with nine followed by Logan Bader with eight and Levi Bailey with seven.
          Augustana's got 18 points from Chrishawn Orange and 14 from Pierson Wolfford.
          The Vikings improve to 14-3, 7-1 while Millikin falls to 3-14, 1-7.
          Millikin travels to North Central on January 25.
