Big Blue Wrestlers Go 2-1 at Gator Boots Duals

The Millikin wrestling team went 2-1 at the Gator Boots Duals hosted by Luther College in Nashville, Tenn. on December 16.
         Millikin opened the day with a 45-3 win over Alma and a 44-12 victory over Simpson College. Millikin's only loss came to eighth ranked Baldwin Wallace 19-18.
         The Big Blue had five wrestlers go undefeated on the day. Junior Chris Williams backed up his number one national ranking at 141 pounds going 3-0. Williams posted wins by decision (10-7), by technical fall (17-1) and by major decision (14-4). Williams is now 15-0 on the season.
         Freshman Bradan Birt was impressive at 149 pounds. Birt had two pins in his opening two matches in 56 seconds and in 1:07 respectively. He won his final match by technical fall 18-2. Birt is now 15-1 on the season.
         Senior Blake Tisza went 3-0 at 157 pounds including one win by fall.
         At 197 pounds, Keajion Jennings, who is ranked 10th in the country, went 3-0 with two wins by fall and one by decision. Jennings is now 16-0 on the season.
         Senior Myron Hamilton won all three of his matches at 285 including a 13-5 major decision against Simpson. Hamilton improved to 14-2 on the season.
         Brandon Muselman, Jake Tisza and Austin Hedrick each went 2-1 on the day.
         The Millikin 2 squad won both its matches downing Baldwin Wallace 2 22-21 and Ferrum 2 28-21.
