Big Blue Men Suffer Road Loss

         The Millikin men's basketball team lost at Westminster College 88-74 on December 16 in Fulton, Missouri.
         Millikin shot well from the field hitting 52 percent of its shots.  Westminster shot 54 percent from the field.  The Big Blue hit one more field goal in the game, but the Bluejays had add the advantage from three-point range and at the free throw line.  Westminster made nine threes compared to only six for Millikin.  The Bluejays were 21-29 from the free throw line while Millikin went 8-15.  Millikin won the rebounding battle 41-24, but was hurt by 25 turnovers.  Westminster scored 27 points off the Big Blue miscues. 
         Millikin scored seven straight points to end the first half to pull to 41-40.  After a Westminster burst to open the second half, the Big Blue rallied to take a 51-49 lead on a Michael Charles basket at 15:57 remaining.  Jordan Cunningham would give Millikin its least lead at 53-52 with 15 minutes left in the game.  The Bluejays then went on a 21-7 run to pull out to a 73-60 advantage.
         Cunningham led the Big Blue with 17 points and 11 rebounds.  Zach Fisher added 13 and DeVante Harrell had 12.  Korbin Farmer had 11 points and Elijah Henry had 10 rebounds and five points.
         Kobe Wands led Westminster with 25 points.
         Millikin goes to 5-4 on the season while Westminster improves to 6-3.
         The Big Blue will have a quick turnaround as they host Aurora University on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.
