Millikin Baseball Downs North Central

The Millikin baseball team won its third straight game defeating North Central College 10-7 on May 2 at Sunnyside Park in Decatur, Illinois.
Millikin kept its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament (CCIW) hopes live taking a game from fourth place North Central.  The Big Blue swept first place Illinois Wesleyan on April 28.  Millikin is now 20-15 overall and 9-12 in the CCIW.  The Big Blue would need to win out and get some along the way to finish in the top four in the conference and earn a spot in the CCIW Tournament.  North Central is now 15-15 overall and 10-8 in the conference.
North Central jumped out to a 4-0 lead after scoring three runs in the first and adding one in the second.  Millikin stormed back in the bottom of the second scoring nine runs.  The Big Blue added an insurance run in the seventh.  Keith Askins opened the inning with a bunt single and advanced to third on two Cardinal errors.  Anthony Bryan then singled home Askins to start the Millikin scoring.  Mason Bruce had a two run double to pull Millikin to 4-3.  Julian Gutierrez singled to score Bruce to make it 4-4.
The Big Blue then showed off its power with Andrew Huss hitting a three-run homerun and Askins hitting a two-run homer.
Bruce and Huss were each 2-4 for the Big Blue with three RBIs.  Askins had two hits scored three runs and drove home two.  Bryan and Devin Crews each had two hits for Millikin.
