Big Blue Women’s Soccer Opens CCIW Play with Tie

          The Millikin women's soccer team opened play in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) with a 1-1 double overtime tie with North Park University on September 27 at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, Illinois.
          Millikin scored the game's first goal at the 72:50 mark when freshman Sydney Rudny found the net from 30 yards out.
          The Vikings would tie the game with just under three minutes remaining when Anika Nyquist scored with the assist going to Marina Barrios.
          Millikin's Anna Benvenuto recorded seven saves while North Park goalkeeper Sydney Martinez had 10 saves.
          Millikin is now 6-2-1, 0-0-1 while North Park goes to 6-3-1, 0-1-1.
          Millikin will play at Elmhurst College on Saturday, September 30.
