Millikin Triathletes Ready for Nationals

In today's final race before the NCAA Championship event, the Millikin triathletes proved they are ready for national level competition. In today's race, the Eastern Qualifier in Virginia, all four of Millikin's athletes survived the lap out against top Division I and II teams in the country. Every Millikin athlete posted season best times in each of the three aspects of the race.

With temperatures in the 50s, the coldest temps of the season, wetsuits added a new dimension to the race. The athletes handled it well. Junior, Morgan Powers led the way for the Big Blue finishing 40th (Top 10 for DIII) with the time of 1:14.54. The three freshmen showed grit with Jaden Lockard and Hope Roderick finishing in a tie for 48th and 49th with a time of 1:18.07, and Brigid Duesterhaus crossing the finish in 62nd with a time of 1:27.01. The team finished fourth out of the six NCAA Division III teams competing in the event.

Next up, the NCAA Championship event in Tempe, Arizona on November 4.
