Big Blue Wrestlers Open Season with Victory

          While the weather kept the Millikin wrestling team from opening the season under the lights at Workman Family Softball Field, the Big Blue still opened the season in style defeating Hannibal LaGrange 45-6 at the Millikin Wrestling Facility in Decatur on November 1.
          After dropping the 125 pound match, Millikin won the next nine matches including winning four matches by fall, three by technical fall and two by major decision. Freshman Ren Dazey got Millikin's first win at 133 with a 17-1 technical fall victory. Sophomore Nick Sablan posted another technical fall win at 141 19-4. Tristan Birt won at 149 by forfeit.
          Returning All-American sophomore Bradan Birt won at 157 by fall at 4:26 and junior Noah Justi followed with a victory by fall at 165. Griffin Meeker won at 174 pounds 11-6 and Sam Lack scored a 14-3 major decision at 184.
          Senior All-American Keajion Jennings won at 197 pounds 20-8 (MD) and sophomore Diata Drayton closed out the match with a pin fall win in 33 seconds at 285.
          Millikin will compete at the Dr. Bob Kellogg Open on Saturday at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois.
