Millikin Football Falls in Season Finale

          The Millikin football team lost its final game of the 2018 season 55-12 at #10 North Central College.
          The Big Blue end the season at 6-4, 5-4. North Central improves to 9-1, 8-1 and won its third straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) title and an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Football playoffs.
          The Cardinals scored 28 points in the first quarter and never looked back.
          Millikin senior quarterback Nicco Stepina ended his stellar career going 25-31-1 passing for 207 yards and two touchdowns. He had 49 yards rushing on 10 carries.
Stepina ends his career with 14 Millikin offensive records including passing yards in a career (9,384), career touchdown passes (93), career total offense (10,264), touchdown passes in a season (30), passing yards in a season (2,785), touchdown passes in game (seven), passing yards in a game 380, pass completions in a game (34), and passing yards in a game (380).  Unofficially Stepina has set two new CCIW records for career touchdown passes at 70 and touchdown passes in a season with 31.
          Junior Jordan Smith had six catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Smith is now Millikin's third all-time leading receiver with 2,300 yards. He added to his own school records for touchdowns in a career now at 37 and touchdowns in a season at 17. Smith became the first Big Blue receiver to go over 1,000 yard in season ending the year with 1,044.  His 17 touchdowns this season is a new CCIW record.
          Senior wide receiver Gerald Perry ended his outstanding career with five catches for 47 yards. He ranked sixth all-time at Millikin in receiving yards with 2,161.
          Broc Rutter led North Central going 18-22 passing for 251 yards and four touchdowns. Ethan Greenfield rushed for 104 yards and two scores.
          North Central had 600 yards of total offense with Millikin gaining 324 yards.
