Coach Kerans and Millikin Seniors Close Out Careers in Style

          Millikin University Head Women's Basketball Coach Lori Kerans and the six Big Blue seniors closed out their careers in style with an 85-66 win over North Park University on February 20 in front of a packed Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
          After 32 years leading the Millikin program, Kerans is retiring to become the Director of Alumni Engagement at Millikin. Kerans ends her coaching career with a record of 556-276, 11 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Titles and one NCAA Division III National Championship.
          The night belonged to the Big Blue as they lead the entire game. Millikin was up 25-15 after the first quarter and 42-28 at the half. Millikin shot 47 percent from the field and went 8-16 (50 percent) from three-point range. North Park was limited to 34 percent from the field and went 4-10 (40 percent) from three-point range. Millikin won the rebounding battle 44-39.
          Millikin honored its six seniors before the game and the group led the Big Blue to victory with each one contributing. Senior Devin Curry led the way with 24 points, three assists and three rebounds. Senior Emily Schultz had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Senior Haley Toohill scored 15 points with three rebounds and two assists. Senior Sarah Bailey scored 10 points while senior Lauren Moses grabbed 14 rebounds and scored eight points. Senior Sierra Birdsell pulled down four rebounds and had two assists. Junior Yanni Saddler added 11 points and six rebounds.
          North Park's top scorer was Alisha Panthier with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Samantha Bloom added 10 points.
          Millikin ends the season at 8-17, 3-13 while North Park ends its year at 9-16, 4-12.
