Big Blue Men Fall at Carthage

         The Millikin men's basketball team lost at Carthage College 85-70 on February 3 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
         Millikin stayed close to the Red Men over the first 12 minute of the game trailing 24-22 with 7:37 left in the first half.  Carthage then went on an 11-0 run to take control of the game.  Carthage led 44-26 at the half and dominated the first 10 minutes of the second half to put the game away.
         The story of the game was the three-point shooting of Carthage's Jordan Thomas.  Jordan scored 40 points in the game making a school record 11 three-pointers.  Thomas was 11-13 from beyond the arc becoming the 10th player in school history to score 40 or more points in a game.
         Millikin shot 45.5 percent from the field and went 5-13 (38.5 percent) from three-point range.  Carthage shot 49 percent from the field, but the difference in the game was the Red Men's three-point shooting making 15-23 (65 percent).  Millikin won the rebounding battle 33-31.
         Millikin's top scorer was Elijah Henry with 21 points and eight rebounds.  Zach Fisher had nine points followed by DaVante Harrell with eight points and four assists.
         In addition to Thomas' 40 point performance, Carthage got 17 points and eight rebounds from Brad Kruse.
         Millikin falls to 10-11, 3-8 while Carthage improves to 12-8, 7-4.
         The loss continues Millikin's trouble of winning in Kenosha.  The Big Blue have not won at Carthage since 1994.
