Big Blue Softball Ends Season with Sweep

         The Millikin softball team ended its 2018 season sweeping Illinois College on May 1 in Jacksonville, Illinois.  Millikin won game one 4-3 and took game two 10-2.
         Millikin trailed 3-1 in game one, but rallied for three runs in the fifth inning. Freshman Skielyr Trenkle led the Big Blue attack going 3-3 with a home run. Taylor Jordan and Kailey Lyons each went 2-4.  Cathy Lebryk was the winning pitcher for Millikin throwing seven innings allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out three.
         Shelby Koehler led Illinois College going 2-3 with three RBI.
         Game two was all Millikin with the Big Blue scoring seven runs in the first inning. Jordan was 3-4 for Millikin with an RBI.  Chelsea Eads was 2-4 with a home run.  Trenkle remained hot going 2-2 with a double and two RBI.  Kalli
Farmer was 2-4 with an RBI.  Lexi Dockins picked up two hits and Alyssa Voegele had two RBI.
         Gracie Brookens was the winning with seven innings pitched. She allowed four hits with two strikeouts.
         Jackie Reilly had home run and two RBI for Illinois College.
         Millikin ends the season at 22-14.  Illinois College is now 23-11.
