Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Big Blue Men’s Soccer Goes to 2-0

          Playing on back-to-back days, the Millikin men's soccer team defeated Alma College 2-1 on September 2 to open the 2018 season with a 2-0 record.  Millikin defeated Kalamazoo College on Saturday 3-0.  Both games were played at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, Illinois.
          On Sunday, Millikin scored both in goals in the first period.  Bradyn Nokes scored on a header at 30:38 and Trey Knighton scored from 15 yards in front of the goal at 38:49.  Both goals were made possible by throw-ins from Austin Taylor who picked up two assists.
          Alma made the game close in the 65th minute scoring on a Nick Stander goal.  The assist came from a long free kick from Scots' goalie Mast Garrison.
          Isaac Hopper earned the win in the net for Millikin with six saves.  Mast had two saves for Alma.
          Millikin will travel to Monmouth College on Wednesday, September 5.
