The Millikin University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to two ranked teams on the second day of the Millikin Midseason Showcase. In game one, they faced off against tenth ranked Thomas More. The Saints took down the Big Blue in three sets (16-25, 15-25, 11-25).

A plethora of Millikin players played throughout the three sets, but Emily Seegmiller was the team's kills leader with seven. Gabrielle Coulthard chipped in six. Rose Syversen tallied 17 assists, and Alyssa Vignos accounted for ten digs and Millikin's lone service ace.

In their second match, they looked to bounce back against the 25th ranked Warhawks of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The Warhawks were too much, though, and the Big Blue was swept in three (20-25, 25-27, 21-25).

Millikin was led at the net by Peyton Jackson with 12 kills and Marissa McElroy with 11. Syversen added 32 assists, and Vignos tallied 19 more digs.

With the losses, Millikin fell to 9-10 on the season. They will be tested in their next match as well on Friday, October 5 when they travel to Bloomington to take on 18th ranked Illinois Wesleyan.
