Millikin Runners Strong at Bradley Pink Classic

         The Millikin men's and women's cross country team turned in a strong showing competing in the Bradley University "Pink" Classic on October 18 at the Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Illinois.
         Millikin competed in the White Race featuring several NCAA Division III teams and B-teams from NCAA DI programs. The Big Blue men finished in third place in the White Race with the Millikin women finishing in fifth.
         The Millikin men had two runners with Top 10 finishes in the race and had five athletes set new marks in the Millikin all-time Top 25 8K times chart. Junior Taijhan Nelson finished in seventh place in 25:54.7, which was the sixth fastest 8K in Millikin history. Freshman Dane Alexander was eighth in 25:57.0, which was seventh fastest in school history. Freshman Gabe Bush turned in Millikin's 17th all-time best time in 26:24.9, which placed in 23rd in the event. Other runners setting new Big Blue Top 25 marks were freshmen Austin Bridgman at 26:28.8 (21st all-time) and Kort McClellan at 26:31.1 (22nd all-time).
         Sophomore Victoria Mineo was the Millikin women's top finisher in 14th place with a 6K time of 23:30.1. Maddy Eck was 23rd at 23:57.6, which was 15th fastest in school history. Tessa Wiegand had Millikin's 25th all-time best 6K at 24:24.3.
