Millikin Football Falls at Augustana

         After waiting through a two and a half hour weather delay to start the game, the Millikin football team lost at Augustana College 40-14 on October 5 in Rock Island, Illinois.
         The delay marks the second straight trip to Rock Island with long weather delays.  In 2017, it took over seven hours to finish the game after three lengthy delays.
         The Vikings game out strong in first quarter scoring on its first two possessions to gain an early 10-0 advantage.
         In was 16-0 at halftime, before the Big Blue got on the board with two second half scores.
         Ladavion Severado scored on a two-yard run for Millikin's first touchdown and Cal Porthe connected on a 37 yard pass to Jordan Smith for the Big Blue's final score.  Pohrte ended the game 24-39-1 passing for 286 yards.  Smith had seven catches for 132 yards and Leigh Nutall had 11 catches for 112 yards.  Severado had 54 rushing yards.
         Augustana quarterback Zachary Fuller was 14-26 passing for 165 yards and one touchdown.  Bobby Jarosz rushed for 143 yards on 24 carries and one score. 
         Augustana had 412 yards of total offense while Millikin gained 381.
         Millikin is now 2-2, 1-2 while Augustana goes to 3-1, 2-1.
The Big Blue return to the road next week when they travel to Carroll University.
