DECATUR, Ill. - Women's Tennis squared off against Elmhurst College in a CCIW matchup Saturday morning at Fairview Park Tennis Complex. Millikin would win all matches, defeating the Bluejays 9-0 to improve to 3-3 on the year in conference play.
Morgan Bettner and
Shelby Jones were the #1 doubles, facing Elmhurst's Ysabel Gonzago and Dacey Maglaque. Jones and Bettner would win their set 8-1. In the #2 doubles spot,
Brianna Barconi and
Danielle Beard went up against Kristina Radakovic and Bailey Ekstrand, winning 8-4.
Alena Hinch and
Katie Cooper were the #3 doubles for Millikin, and would beat Silvia Barak and Lindsey McAuliffe 8-2.
In singles play,
Morgan Bettner would face Ysabel Gonzaga and would win both sets with scores of 7-5 and 6-2.
Shelby Jones was the #2 singles player for Millikin and would defeat Bailey Ekstrand 6-4 and 6-0. Freshman
Brianna Barconi went up against Dacey Maglaque and went on to win 6-4, 6-1.
Danielle Beard was in in the #4 spot for singles, and squared off against Lindsey McAuliffe. Beard would win 6-4, 6-2.
Katie Cooper and Silvia Barak would meet in the #5 singles match, where Cooper would win 6-1, 7-6. In the final singles matchup,
Alena Hinch took on June Bering and wn both sets with scores of 6-4 and 6-2.
Millikin will face Carthage College on Friday, October 11 at 3:00 PM at Fairveiw Park Tennis Complex in Decatur.
