KENOSHA, Wis. - Millikin Women's Volleyball traveled to Kenosha, Wisconsin to face the No. 1 seeded Carthage College Lady Reds in the CCIW Tournament Finals. The Lady Reds entered the match ranked No. 4 in the most recent AVCA Top 25 Poll, while Millikin was ranked No. 8 in the NCAA Division III Regional Polls. The Big Blue would force five sets to be played in the match, but would fall to the Lady Reds 3-2, ending their season with an overall record of 22-13, going 6-2 in regular season CCIW play.
Millikin would take the first set from Carthage, beating the Lady Reds 25-21, the largest point difference the Big Blue would win by on the night. Carthage would come right back in the second set, holding Millikin to just 10 points, tying the match at 1-1 with a final score of 25-10. The third set would see Millikin take the lead in the match again, beating Carthage 25-22, going into the fourth set with a 2-1 lead. Carthage would come back again in the fourth set tying the game at 2-2 with a 25-11 win over the Big Blue to force a fifth set. In the final set of the night, Millikin would fall 15-12, crowning the Lady Reds as CCIW Tournament Champions, giving them an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Marissa McElroy tied Carthage's Megan Behrendt with the most kills in the match with 15 a piece. Leading the match in assists was Carthage's Ellie LeCount, who posted 42 on the night, while Millikin's
Rose Syversen recorded 38 of her own. Carthage's Andrea Kozak held down the defense for the Lady Reds with nine blocks on the Big Blue, while freshmen middle blocker duo
Sarah Porter and
Jessi Kreder had three blocks each.
Julianna Vassallo tied Carthage's Shannon Kebisek in digs with 17 in the match.
