Big Blue Basketball Drops CCIW Opener

        The Millikin men's basketball team lost its opener in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) falling to #17 Elmhurst College 85-60 on December 4 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.
        Millikin shot 36 percent (22-61) from the field making 6-14 (43 percent) from three-point range.  Elmhurst shot 52 percent (33-63) from the field.  The Bluejays out rebounded Millikin 44-34.
        Senior Zach Fisher led Millikin with 13 points.  Calvin Fisher had nine points, four rebounds and four assists.  Senior Kevin Miller came off the Millikin bench to score nine points.
        Lavon Thomas led Elmhurst with 18 points and eight rebounds.  Jake Rhode and Derek Dotlich each had 13 for the Bluejays.
        Elmhurst improves to 6-0 while Millikin falls to 1-7.
        Millikin will host Wheaton College on Saturday, December 7 at 4 p.m.
