Millikin Women’s Basketball Suffers Road Loss

         The Millikin women's basketball team lost at Wheaton College 74-61 on January 29 in Wheaton, Illinois.
         The Big Blue got off to a strong start in the game shooting 50 percent from the field in the first quarter to take a 15-12 lead.  Millikin lead 31-26 at halftime.
         The third quarter was costly for Millikin shooting on 3-16 from the field.  The Thunder went on a 14-1 run over the first six minutes of the third quarter and led 52-41 heading into the final quarter. 
         Millikin shot 37 percent (19-51) from the field and went 3-9 from three-point range.  Wheaton shot 40 percent (26-65) from the field making 8-21 three-pointers.  Millikin shot only 64.5 percent (20-31) from the free throw line while the Thunder hit on 14-16.  Wheaton out rebounded Millikin 42-35.
         Abby Ratsch led Millikin with career high 22 points along with 10 rebounds.  Aubrey Staton added 11 points. 
         Hannah Frazier led Wheaton with 21 points and seven rebounds.  Jill Berg added 10 points.
         Millikin is now 12-7, 5-5 while Wheaton improves to 14-5, 7-3.
