MEQUON, Wis. - Millikin Men's Volleyball traveled to Mequon, Wisconsin Friday as they compete in the Concordia Invite hosted by Concordia University - Wisconsin. The Big Blue faced Concordia University - Wisconsin in their first match of the weekend and would fall 3-0. 

Millikin would see themselves with an early 8-1 deficit in the first set of the match, but would only pull within five of the Falcons late in the set. Concordia University - Wisconsin would win the first set with a final score of 25-19. 

The second set saw a more even playing field in the first half of the set, with the score being tied six times before Concordia went on two three-point scoring runs, pulling ahead 16-12. Later in the set, a kill from Kyle Clendenen would bring Millikin within three of the Falcons, bringing the score to 20-17. Concordia responded with three quick points to pull ahead by six, ending the set with another 25-19 final score. 

In the third set, there was more back and forth scoring, much like the set prior. Millikin would tie the game four times early in the set, but would be unable to gain an edge on the Falcons. Concordia went on an eight-point scoring run in the middle of the set to bring the score to 16-8. The Big Blue would respond to that run by scoring three, but the Falcons answer by scoring three more of their own. Concordia would continue chipping away late in the set to win the set 25-16, ending the match with a 3-0 final score.

Freshman Willie Valentine tied Concordia's Dylan Griffith for the most digs in the match with 12 on the night. Jose Gallardo led the Big Blue with six kills in the match, while Robbie Maida led Millikin in assists with 17.  

The Concordia Invite continues on Saturday, February 1 in Mequon, Wisconsin. Millikin start their day at 10:00 AM as they face Olivet College and will take on Maranatha Baptist University later in the day at 2:00 PM.
