Millikin Women Fall to Titans

          The Millikin women's basketball team lost at Illinois Wesleyan University 86-81 on January 4 in Bloomington, Illinois.
          Millikin trailed 20-15 after the first quarter, but outscored the Titans by nine in the second quarter to build a 34-30 halftime advantage.  The Big Blue overcame a 10-0 Titan run to start the third quarter and held a 61-56 lead at the end of three quarters.
Illinois Wesleyan used its pressure defense to rally in the fourth quarter and pull out the victory.
          Millikin shot 48 percent (31-65) from the field including going 9-22 (41 percent) from three-point range.  The Titans were 32-70 shooting (46 percent) and went 4-19 from three point range.  Millikin had trouble with Illinois Wesleyan's full court pressure committing 24 turnovers that lead to 33 Titan points.  Each team had 37 rebounds.
          Aubrey Staton led Millikin with 24 points.  Freshman Natalie Snyder came off the Millikin bench to score 14 points and grab four rebounds.  Bailey Coffman had 13 points and six rebounds with Briana Anthony adding 10 points.
          Kendall Sosa had 26 points to lead the Titans followed by Brooke Lansford with 20.   
          Millikin is now 8-4, 1-2 while the Titans improve to 8-4, 3-1.
