Women's Volleyball Dropped by #4 Hope, #14 Ohio Northern

The Big Blue women's volleyball team traveled to Grand Rapids, Mich. for the Midwest Invitational hosted by Calvin University on Friday, October 22. Millikin matched up against two ranked opponents on day one of competition in #4 Hope College and #14 Ohio Northern University. 

In the first match of the day, Millikin fell to Hope in three sets (18-25, 20-25, 20-25). 

Millikin's offense was led by Tori Stuart with 13 kills, Jessi Kreder with nine kills, and Lauren Brummel with six kills. Reece Brown tallied 30 assists, and both Julianna Vassallo and Anna Deutschmann recorded 11 digs. Sophia Gibbs notched 4 total blocks. 

In their second matchup, the Big Blue were bested by Ohio Northern in three (23-25, 13-25, 20-25). 

Kreder was the Big Blue kills leader with nine, and Stuart added seven. Vassallo was credited with three service aces, and Brown added 25 assists. Kailee Itzenhuiser led Millikin in digs with eight. 

Millikin will face yet another ranked opponent on Saturday, October 23 when they match up against the host, #6 Calvin University.
