Millikin Football Drops Home Contest

The Millikin football team lost at Washington University-St. Louis 55-13 at home on October 23.
 
The Bears jumped out a 14-0 advantage in the first quarter, but Millikin cut into the lead early in the second quarter.  Quarterback Cal Pohrte connected with Colton Lockwood on an eight-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-7. After WashU answered with its own touchdown pass, Millikin responded with a one-yard run from freshman running back Lontas McClinton to make it 21-13. The Bears added a score to lead 28-13 at halftime and scored 27 unanswered points in the second half.
 
Millikin had 307 yards of total offense with 231 coming through the air and 76 on the ground. Pohrte ending the game 19-39 passing with one touchdown and four interceptions. Lockwood had eight catches for 98 yards. Marion McGhee rushed 25 times for 79 yards.
 
WashU had 371 yards of total offense with 224 passing and 147 yards rushing. Bears quarterback Matt Rush was 16-25 passing for 224 yards and six touchdowns. Cole Okmin had six catches for 96 yards and four touchdowns.
 
Millikin falls to 2-5, 2-4 while Washington University-St. Louis improves to 5-2, 5-1.
