CCIW Women's Cross Country Poll

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Elmhurst Bluejays are predicted to win the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Cross Country Championship according to the annual coaches' poll announced Tuesday.

The poll predicted how each team would finish when the conference's nine programs compete at the 2021 CCIW Championship held October 30 at St. James Farm in Warrenville, Il. hosted by Wheaton College.

The Bluejays garnered five first-place votes and 58 points. Illinois Wesleyan was close behind with three first place votes and 56 points.

Elmhurst finished third in 2019 and last captured a Conference title in 2002.

North Central and Wheaton tied for third with 50 points, followed by Carroll (34 points). Millikin (30 points), Carthage (22 points), Augustana (7 points) and North Park (8 points).

Voting is done by the CCIW's head women's cross country coaches. Each coach votes for the eight other schools in the conference in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (eight points for first, seven for second, etc.). Coaches do not vote for their own teams.

Following next weekend's conference championship, CCIW teams will take part in the NCAA Division III Regionals on Saturday, November 13 with some teams headed to Rock Island, Il. while others will compete in Eau Claire, Wis. The NCAA Championship will be held in Louisville, Ky on November 20, 2021.
