Big Blue Men’s Basketball Posts Road Win

The Millikin men's basketball team opened its season with a 63-59 win at Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois and November 5.
 
The Big Blue gave new Millikin Head Coach Kramer Soderberg his first career coaching victory. Millikin led 36-25 at halftime and held off Blackburn in the second half after being outscored by seven points.
 
Millikin shots 39 percent (22-57) from the field and went 6-22 (27 percent) from three-point range. Millikin was 13-15 (87 percent) from the free-throw line. Blackburn was 21-44 (48 percent) from the field.
 
Jake Hampton led Millikin with 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Freshman JT Welch had 12 points for the Big Blue making all four of his shots including two three-pointers and two free throws.
 
Jarrius Burnett led Blackburn with 29 points.
