Millikin Wrestling Remains Undefeated in Dual Competition

The Millikin wrestling team improved to 8-0 in dual competition defeating Aurora University 50-4 on December 2 in the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.

Millikin started the match strong with Tommy Russell (11-1) winning at 125 by technical fall at 125 over Skyler Pike. The next victory on the mat for the Big Blue was by senior DJ Millett at 141 a win by fall at 3:49. Millikin picked up 12 teams points by forfeits by the Spartans at 133 and 149.

Peter McCusker and Bradan Birt each scored pins to put Millikin up 35-0. McCusker won at 157 with by fall at 4:26 and Birt improved to 12-0 on the season with win by fall at 2:36. Birt is ranked number on in the country at 165 in the latest NWCA poll. McCusker improved to 11-1 on the season.

Aurora's Luke Silvan defeated Dejon Glaster at 174 by major decision 11-3.

Millikin finished off the match with Nick White winning by fall (2:34), Niles Ager winning at 197 by technical fall 21-2 and Brayan Reyes scoring a 13-2 major decision at 285. Reyes remains undefeated at 12-0.

The Big Blue won two extra matches on the evening with Caden Owens scoring a 16-0 technical fall and Ryder Marshall winning 5-0.

The Big Blue will host Augustana College on Sunday, December 5 at 2 p.m.
