Men's Volleyball Falls to North Park

The Big Blue men's volleyball team traveled to Chicago, Ill. on Saturday, March 13 to match up against the Vikings of North Park University. In both of their meetings this season, the Vikings have swept Millikin 

Leading the way in kills for MU was Jakob Henderson who tallied six. Terezz Lee added four kills and five blocks, and Chelan Beavers added three kills and five blocks. Jose Gallardo notched 19 assists for the Big Blue, and Fred Halper had eight digs. Kyle Clendenen had the lone service ace. 

In set one, Millikin kept it close with the Vikings through the first 20 points before falling behind on a few short runs for North Park and losing 16-25. Set two saw a similar pattern, with the Big Blue using a short run with Gallardo behind the service line to claw their way back from being down five to bring the score to 10-11. A 5-0 run by North Park closed out the second set, and Millikin was defeated 14-25. The Big Blue trailed the entire third set, rallying back late but falling short and losing 20-25. 

Men's volleyball will face another tough conference opponent on Wednesday, March 17 in Decatur, Ill. against the Vikings of Augustana College.
