Match Recap: Women's Tennis | | Morgan Vogels

Women's Tennis Sweeps North Park in Conference Victory

Millikin women's tennis matched up against the Vikings of North Park University on Saturday, April 10 at the Decatur Athletic Club. The Big Blue were on the winning side of a 9-0 sweep. 

In doubles play, the team of Shelby Jones and Destiny Galvan picked up an 8-2 win at #2 against Hannah Dickinson and Emma Trais in the first match to finish. Brianna Barconi and Cristina Borunda secured the second 8-2 win of the day for the Big Blue against Lisa Viuhkonen and Hannah Rosenbaum at #1. North Park forfeited the #3 doubles match. 

On the singles side, Danielle Beard earned the first Millikin win at #6 6-0, 6-0 against Acacia Doughty. Taylor Milholland's match finished up second at #4, and she defeated Trais 6-3, 6-0. Earning a singles win against Dickinson at #3 was Borunda with a 6-2, 6-0 victory. Obradovic was victorious at #1 with a win over Viuhkonen 6-1, 6-0, and Barconi tallied the final Millikin win at #2 with a 6-3, 6-0 defeat of Rosenbaum. The Vikings forfeited the #6 singles match to complete the sweep.
