Millikin Drops Road Contest

The Millikin University baseball team dropped a road College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) contest at 13th ranked North Central College on April 6 in Naperville, Illinois.
 
Playing its fifth game in five days, the Big Blue jumped out to a 1-0 advantage in the top of the first inning. Gabe Soria led off the game with a single. Soria was sacrificed to second base and scored on an RBI single from Frank Bryan. The Cardinals tied the game in the bottom of the first on a RBI single from Justin Rios who drove in Dom Listi who tripled.
 
Millikin took advantage of a North Central error in the fourth inning. After the error, Andrew Auton doubled and Soria had a two-run single to make it 3-1 Big Blue.
 
North Central tied the game in the fifth and went ahead 5-3 in the sixth after a Millikin error extended the inning.
 
Soria had a two-run single in the ninth driving home Auton and Tanner Coleman who had both reached on singles to tie the game at 5-5.
 
The Cardinals won the game in the bottom of the ninth with two outs on a walk off run scoring single from Michael Stoltz.
 
Soria ended the game 4-5 for Millikin with four RBI. Auton and Garrett Fritz each had two hits. Millikin used seven pitchers in the game.
 
Listi and Rios each had three hits for North Central.
 
Millikin goes to 16-4, 9-3 while North Central improves to 12-5, 7-3.
