Big Blue Baseball Drops Road Doubleheader

Sunday's Game Time Changed to 2 p.m.

The Millikin baseball team dropped a road doubleheader at Carthage College on May 8 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Firebirds won game one 8-5 and took game two 4-2.
 
Millikin scored a single run in the first inning and then added two more in the top of the fifth. Trailing 3-2, Carthage scored three in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-3 lead. The Big Blue then answered with two runs in the sixth, but Carthage broke the 5-5 tie with a three-run seventh inning.
 
Frank Bryan was 1-3 for the Big Blue with three RBI. Tommy Shaw, Gabe Soria and Tanner Coleman all had two hits for Millikin.
 
Austin Prybylinski had three hits for Carthage including a double. Jake Cinelli had two hits for the Firebirds.
 
In game two, Carthage scored two in the bottom of the first on an RBI single from Bryce Prybylinski and run scoring double from Ben Levicki.
Tanner Coleman's RBI single made it a 2-1 game in the second. Pierson Gibis made it 3-1 Carthage with an RBI single in the fourth. Both teams posted single runs in the seventh with Shawn doubling home a run for Millikin. Levicki homered for the Firebirds.
 
Gabe Soria and Coleman had two hits in the game for Millikin. Austin Prybyliski had three hits for Carthage.
 
Millikin is now 22-13 overall and 15-12 in conference play. Carthage is 15-19, 10-16.
 
The two teams will face off in Decatur on Sunday, May 8 with the game time pushed back to 2 p.m.
