Millikin Women’s Soccer Opens with Win

The Millikin women's soccer team opened the 2021 season with a 3-2 win at Knox College on September 1 in Galesburg, Illinois.
 
Millikin opened the scoring at 14:41 with a goal from sophomore Faith Marinier.  Seven minutes later, the Big Blue went up 2-0 on a goal from Maddy Wood with the assist going to Abby King. The game was 2-1 at the half.
 
Lydia Mitchell scored two goals both of the Knox goals. With tied at 2-2, Millikin sophomore Bailee Blecker scored the game winner in the 59th minute with Marinier picking up the assist.
 
Millikin will play its home opener on Saturday, September 4 at 5 p.m. against Westminster College.
