Football Suffers Road Loss

The Millikin football team lost at Illinois Wesleyan University 38-24 in Bloomington, Illinois on October 1.
 
Millikin fell behind 17-0 before rallying to get back into the game. Millikin scored its first points midway through the second quarter when quarterback Aiden Lombardo connected with Lidarian Carter on a 42-yard touchdown pass. Big Blue linebacker Kendall Dehority had a pick six to make it 17-14 returning the interception 55-yards for the score.
 
Illinois Wesleyan quarterback Ryan Saxe would hit Seth Albin 15-yard pass in the final minute of the first half to go up 24-14 at halftime. The Titans connected on a 64-yard touchdown pass from Saxe to Myles Kee to go up 31-14.
 
Millikin answered with a Lombardo to Leigh Nutall eight-yard touchdown pass and a 30-yard field goal from David Ramirez to pull to 31-24 early in the fourth quarter.
 
The Titans sealed its victory on a 43-yard pass from Saxe to Kevin Graham.
 
The Titans had 398 yards of total offense including 346 passing while holding Millikin to 153 yards of total offense.
 
Lombardo was 8-24 pass for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Antonio Brown had nine catches for 52 yards.
 
Saxe finished the day 23-35-3 for 346 yards and four touchdowns. Kee had eight catches for 115 yards.
 
Quinton Miller led Millikin with 10 tackles including 1.5 tackles for a loss. Josh Grant and Sean Steele also had interceptions for the Big Blue.
 
Millikin is 2-2, 1-2 while Illinois Wesleyan improves to 3-1, 2-1.
