Loss Ends Women’s Soccer’s Season

The Millikin women's soccer team lost to Wheaton College 4-1 on October 26 at Frank M. Lindsay Field in Decatur, Illinois. The loss coupled with Carthage's 1-0 win over Elmhurst knocked the Big Blue out of contention for a spot in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) post season tournament.
 
Wheaton had a 1-0 advantage at halftime after a Katherine Ashley goal. Emily Setran scored two goals within a one-minute stretch early in the second period to give Wheaton a 3-0.
 
Millikin's Bailee Blecker scored to make it 3-1 in the 72nd minute. The Thunder answered right back with a goal from Sophie Lindquist who also had two assists in the game.
 
Millikin ends its season at 5-7-3, 3-4-1 while Wheaton advances to the conference tournament with a record of 5-8-3, 4-3-1.
